Seller Guidelines

Trust is the foundation of LookAtPets. Every breeder, rescue, farm, and vendor agrees to these guidelines in addition to the Terms of Service and Community Standards.

Listing quality

  • Photos must be of the actual animal you're listing.
  • Health, age, lineage, and registry information must be accurate.
  • Pricing and adoption fees must be clearly stated.

Animal welfare

  • Comply with all federal, state, and local animal-welfare laws.
  • Provide humane housing, veterinary care, and socialization.
  • Disclose known genetic, behavioral, or medical conditions.

Reservations & transactions

  • Respond to inquiries promptly and honestly.
  • Use clear, written contracts. Honor refund and return terms you publish.
  • Never misrepresent registration papers, health certificates, or lineage.

Payments you accept through LookAtPets

Where LookAtPets payments are enabled for you, you agree that:

  • Your listing and the sale you complete must be accurate and lawful.
  • You are the merchant for your sale. Payments are processed by Stripe on your own Stripe account, and your name appears to the buyer.
  • You keep your Stripe account in good standing and complete Stripe's verification.
  • You are responsible for refunds and chargebacks on your sales. These are generally taken from your Stripe balance, as Stripe's terms allow.
  • Payment confirmation is not the same as money in your bank. When funds become available and when payouts arrive depend on Stripe, your account and your bank. LookAtPets adds no hold of its own.
  • LookAtPets' marketplace fee (5% of the payment, minimum $1.25) is earned when a payment is processed successfully and is generally not refunded to you if you later refund the buyer, except where required by law, for a processing error caused by LookAtPets, or by an audited staff correction. A buyer's refund is never reduced by this fee.

Enforcement

Violations may result in listing removal, account restriction, suspension, or referral to regulatory authorities for serious cases (animal cruelty, fraud, wildlife trafficking).
